Every human is a powerhouse of energy. According to research, every human body is a community of 30 – 40 trillion cells and these cells produce more than 100 watts of energy (at rest). Imagine if humans could see this emission of energy, we would all look like the characters from Dragon Ball Z, remember when Goku transit into his ultra-mode, that would have been the sight.
Now an interesting fact is that we can tune our energy according to our choice by adding any feeling or emotion like positive, negative, happy, or sad. This energy then creates a dome around you which we calls an aura. You might know someone who when enters a room fills the room with positive and vibrant energy, these are the people whose dome is strong and is capable to influence other domes around which are not strong enough. There is also the other category of people who when enters the room suck up the whole energy and their presence alone can make you feel depressed. These are the people you when see coming, change the route. Their dome is also very strong and influential.
Now for a public speaker who has to stand in front of people to influence his/her audience to accept whatever idea he/she has, needs to possess a very positive aura that people feel pleased by his/her presence. Because your audience will always mimic the emotions you will transmit through the energy, in fact, we humans are empathetic souls and to connect we tend to mimic each other’s emotions. That’s why we wet our eyes during movies when we see any person been treated wrong, we mimic the emotion of the characters. Imagine if I pick a huge hammer and hit my hand forcefully, what will be your reaction? Ouch! Right? Because you are mimicking. This is how your audience will mimic your emotions and will be influenced by your aura.
How to have a positive influencing aura?
No audience wants to be tuned to lower energy contained with negative emotions. So a speaker should be vibrating on higher energy filled with positivity.
There are several techniques to do that which includes:
Move Your Body:
According to science your body movement and posture plays a huge part in determining how you feel. If you are feeling low even a fake smile can change your mood completely. Alright, let’s experiment right now. I want you to stand on your feet, stand tall and look straight parallel to your eyes, Now put your device down and place both hands on your waste and take a deep breath with a smile on your face. Do it now.
I assume that you have done it and you are surely feeling relaxed and powerful. We call it power posture. Most of the speakers do it for a few seconds to get into a perfect state before appearing on the stage. Some other speakers, like Tony Robbins, do physical exertion to get into a perfect energy state, like push-ups and jumps. The purpose is to move your body to awaken each cell of your body.
Positive Affirmations:
What is going on in your mind before a speech determines how well you perform on the stage. I want you to read it again. Your thought process before a speech is very crucial for your performance. If those thoughts are negative like, what if I forget? What if my joke doesn’t work? I think people are not interested to listen to me e.t.c. All these thoughts then will reflect through your body language making your energy tunned to lower frequency of negativity.
On the other hand, if you do positive affirmations like, I will rock today, I am awesome, I will make my audience mesmerized with my speech, I will change lives today e.t.c, will make you feel positive, and this will tune your energy to be higher and filled with positivity and motivation.
Act Confident:
Have you seen a nervous speaker on the stage? I believe you must have witnessed once in your lifetime, a speaker who is scared and it is visible through the nonverbal clues he/she is giving. Did you like the experience? I am sure you didn’t. The audience always wants to see a confident person on the stage from whom they can get inspired.
And confidence is like clothes which you can wear, you just copy the body language which a confident person possesses. For that, You can closely observe the people you think are confident and by only mimicking their body language you can elevate your energy and have a strong positive aura around you. Because your brain can easily get tricked and believes that you are confident even if you were nervous in the beginning.
So, to have a strong positive aura that is capable of influencing the overall energy of any room you are in; you got to move your body to let the energy flow, self affirm yourself with positive thoughts, and always wear confidence.
